Manchester United have entered a new dawn under Ruben Amorim, though he may have a decision to make on one of his key stars at Old Trafford this summer.

Man Utd look to make a mark in the summer window

The Red Devils will have one eye on the summer window and reinforcements are likely. However, they risk missing out on continental qualification unless Amorim can lead his side through the Champions League back door by winning the Europa League.

Regardless, Manchester United are in the market and Morten Hjulmand is on their list amid speculation that he could be attainable at around £50 million this summer.

On the same token, Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari is another target for the Red Devils and is rated at £29 million by his current employers.

Stereotypically, Manchester United wouldn’t have had problems in shelling out such fees in the past. Now, Financial Fair Play regulations and their collective belt-tightening under INEOS mean that any available funds must be spent wisely.

Inevitably, moving spare parts on appears to be the most logical route to long-term sustainability, even if wage demands complicate proceedings in the window.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made clear that tough decisions will be made by INEOS and his strategy to restore the Red Devils at the top of the English footballing pyramid hasn’t won universal acclaim.

Tapping into that theme, Manchester United now have a dilemma regarding a star who is being targeted by one of the world’s biggest clubs before the upcoming window.

Real Madrid line up £90m offer to sign Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes

According to The Daily Star, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is wanted by Real Madrid in a £90 million deal following an extensive scouting operation from the global giants over the past few months.

Loved by Amorim due to his clutch contributions, the Portugal international isn’t someone the Red Devils want to depart, but they may have to consider a sizeable offer once the summer comes around as part of their cost-cutting operation.

Amorim could get his man.

Labelled a “perfect captain” by the Manchester United boss, Fernandes was brought to England for £54.3 million, creating scope for INEOS to inherit over £30 million in profit should they opt to cash in on the midfielder.

From a sporting standpoint, the 30-year-old’s return of 16 goals and 16 assists in 44 appearances wouldn’t be worth losing for any price. Still, the need for funds to spend elsewhere could be a valid counterargument, especially factoring in his age.

While it would make more sense to try and offload other figures that don’t hold the same influence as Fernandes, it will be interesting to see if push comes to shove should Real Madrid indeed submit an offer.
