Osasuna vs Real Madrid: Bellingham red card after Mbappe goal gives Man City opponents lead
Kylian Mbappe continued another prolific week at Real Madrid by firing in the opener as part of a blistering start for the visitors at Osasuna on Saturday – but the La Liga leaders faced more than 50 minutes with 10 players after a mysterious dismissal for Jude Bellingham.
France forward Mbappe met Federico Valverde’s right-wing cross with an emphatic finish to put dominant Madrid ahead in the 15th minute at Pamplona’s El Sadar.
Bellingham was then dismissed six minutes before half-time after approaching referee Munuera Montero, with the 21-year-old’s exact indiscretion unclear.

Jude Bellingham red card
England international Bellingham received the second red card of his career, having also been sent off for Madrid in March 2024.
On that occasion, the former Borussia Dortmund and Birmingham City livewire earned his marching orders for dissent after the final whistle shortly after he had a winning goal ruled out in a 2-2 draw at Valencia.
Any punishment will apply to games in Spain, so Bellingham’s potential involvement in the second leg of the Champions League play-off, when Madrid host Manchester City on Wednesday (8pm GMT), will not be affected.

Kylian Mbappe Madrid stats
After becoming the reigning Spanish champions’ marquee summer signing, Mbappe now has 24 goals this season and 11 in his last 10 appearances, including a hat-trick in a 3-0 win at Real Valladolid on January 25.
After waiting three games for his first league goal for the club, Mbappe now has 16 in his last 18 La Liga matches, as well as two assists.
Paris St-Germain’s all-time top scorer has featured in all 21 of the La Liga games he has been available for, missing two through injury.
The France superstar has three in his four most recent games in Europe, contributing to a personal total of four and one assist in since the start of the league phase.

Osasuna vs Real Madrid
Ballon d’Or runner-up Vinicius Junior should have put Madrid in front earlier, only to send a close-range header wide in space at the far post after Mbappe’s magic on the left-hand side of the box had created the chance for the Brazil international.
Only a fine Thibaut Courtois save, descending quickly to turn Aimar Oroz’s fierce low strike behind, prevented Osasuna from equalising before Bellingham’s departure.
Madrid will move four points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid and five above Barcelona in the La Liga table if they win a third successive away game in all competitions.
Mbappe scored Madrid’s first equaliser and Bellingham netted their 92nd-minute winner as they beat City 3-2 at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, winning the first leg of their play-off to reach the Champions League round of 16.
