Man Utd may now be ready to replace Amorim with "phenomenal" 48 y/o boss
Manchester United may now be ready to replace Ruben Amorim with a “phenomenal” manager who has won nine trophies, according to a report.
Man Utd players doubting Amorim’s system
Since making the call to sack Erik ten Hag, Man United have shown very few signs of improvement, currently sitting 14th in the Premier League table with just 10 games left to play, and there is a feeling some players have doubts about Amorim.
Last month, it was reported some players have privately discussed whether it would be best for the Portuguese coach to change his style of play, but he has since continued to stand by his three-at-the-back system.
The Red Devils’ 1-1 draw against Arsenal is likely to be viewed as a decent point, but results have by and large failed to improve since players first expressed their doubts about the system, suffering a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur before bowing out of the FA Cup against Fulham.

As such, there will inevitably be questions asked about Amorim’s future at Old Trafford, and a report from Italy has now revealed Man United could be ready to make another managerial change by appointing Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi.
United are at the front of the queue for Inzaghi, alongside Tottenham Hotspur, as they continue to run the rule over potential replacements for Amorim.
At the end of the season, the Inter Milan boss will have just one year remaining on his contract with the Italian side, having been unwilling to commit to a longer deal, and there is a feeling he could be in the sights of two of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
“Phenomenal” Inzaghi has a track record of success
The 48-year-old has achieved a great deal of success in Italy, winning nine trophies at senior level across spells with Inter Milan and Lazio, including the Serie A title last season, which he is on course to compete for again, with his side currently top.
Ex-Inter striker Felipe Caicedo has also lauded his former manager, saying: “Inter are an unplayable team, come on. They’re very strong and know what they want.
“The squad has been together for years. Inzaghi is a phenomenal coach. I’ve never had a better manager, even though I had top coaches like Eriksson and Hughes.”
That said, the reports coming out of Italy seem a little dubious, given that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has recently stated he believes Amorim is doing well, considering the squad he has at his disposal.
Given Ratcliffe’s recent show of support for the Portuguese manager, it seems likely he will be given more time to turn results around, which is probably the correct decision, rather than bringing in yet another new manager with a different style.
