Chris Sutton has named the Manchester United player that Marcus Rashford should take inspiration from amid the England international’s torrid week at his boyhood club on Mail Sport’s It’s All Kicking Off! podcast.
The 27-year-old was left out of the side altogether for Sunday’s Manchester derby against crosstown rivals City, and on Tuesday gave a bombshell interview which spoke of his intentions to one day leave Old Trafford.
But while some are suggesting that a move as soon as January could help Rashford recapture his dazzling form, Sutton was keen to stress that there were inspirations closer to home who could help him regain his confidence on the pitch.
The pundit and It’s All Kicking Off! co-host stressed that this player was ‘admirable’ for ‘knuckling down’ when going through a difficult moment, before coming out the other side as a valuable player at Old Trafford.
Sutton’s co-host Ian Ladyman agreed that he would ‘love’ to see him back at his best with the team he has played for over the last two decades.
