New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is following the Joe Burrow-Olivia Ponton burglary mystery as closely as everyone else.

Burrow’s home was targeted on Monday night while he was playing around 1,000 miles away for the Cincinnati Bengals against Dallas Cowboys in Texas.

Police were alerted to the attempted break-in by Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Ponton, who was inside the $7.5million property and her role in the call has come under intensifying scrutiny.

Her relationship status to Burrow is unclear but it was thought the quarterback was dating long term girlfriend Olivia Holzmacher. And it certainly sounded like Rodgers thought Burrow and Holzmacher were an item.

‘Well, it’s an interesting situation that happened in Cincinnati, mostly around the call,’ Rodgers said. ‘But yeah, I think something happened in Kansas City as well.’

Rodgers was referring to the recent break-ins at Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s mansions and confirmed he has full-time security at his addresses as well.

‘There has been some issues and it something we all think about,’ Rodgers said. ‘It seems like there’s a professional aspect to this where they don’t care if there’s cameras on or alarms set, they’re going to get in and get out quickly.

‘Hopefully it doesn’t happen anymore. The league has a really good resource where security experts can come out to your house and give you ideas about where to put cameras, where weak points are.

‘I don’t think guys in general use it because they don’t have the time or they are thinking about other things or playing video games, whatever it is.

‘But there are a lot of great resources the league put together that other guys should look at in terms of the safety of their homes.’

Speaking on Wednesday, a visibly emotional Burrow offered a cryptic message about the incident, saying: ‘Way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share.

‘My privacy has been violated in more ways than one. That has been difficult for me to deal with my entire career – still learning, but I understand it’s the life that we choose. [But it] doesn’t make it any easier to deal with.’

Mahomes is said to have lost jerseys, medals, trophies and awards from the raid on his home while Kelce reportedly had $100,000 in jewelry and his first ever Super Bowl jersey taken.

A watch taken from the tight end’s mansion was later discovered in Providence, Rhode Island.

Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins quarterback, also revealed this week that he has armed security at his home and with his family when he plays on the road.

He revealed that he was prompted to improve his safety arrangements when somebody tried to break into his car.

‘It was a little too close for my comfort with my family being in the house,’ Tagovailoa said.

‘So we got personal security to take care of all of that. When we’re on the road, we’ve got someone with my wife, got someone also at the house, surveying the house.

‘Just let that be know. They are armed so I hope that if you decide to go to my house, you think twice.’
